A 2019 writeup of the 2005 Apple Store iPod engraving page: rotate the device by cycling JPEGs, live-engrave two lines with ImageMagick, yellow-fade if shipping slipped. Rust's never type `!` went stable August 24. Waffle spent two-plus years on it because never-to-any fallback is now `!` on every edition instead of `()`, and `Infallible` is just an alias — a small break they cratered first. Jarred said Bun's Rust rewrite compiles 5× faster than the Zig one, which bothered a Perfetto person enough to build buildprof: ptrace the whole process tree and dump it on a timeline. Trail of Bits runs one of the three Merkle-tree auditors (with Signal and Cloudflare); clients need all three signatures inside seven days or they warn, and a malicious server can keep a split view for at most a week. The demo is a sensor click; the tractors have fifty controllers.

Replayed 68k Claude Code requests plus Mooncake traces through a prefix-cache simulator and could not beat radix-leaf LRU with liveness prediction, recompute-cost scoring, or session-granular eviction.
